What Is A Blog?

First of all, all you need to know clearly is what you are doing and what you want to do.

Let me introduce with some terms using in blogging.

-What Is Blog?

A blog (short for weblog) is a personal online journal that is frequently updated and intended for general public consumption. Blogs are defined by their format: a series of entries posted to a single page in reverse-chronological order.

Just look some other people say about blog.

Problogger.net said

A blog is a type of website that is usually arranged in chronological order from the most recent ‘post’ (or entry) at the top of the main page to the older entries towards the bottom.

Wiki said

A blog (a portmanteau of web log) is a website where entries are commonly displayed in reverse chronological order. "Blog" can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog.

Many blogs provide commentary or news on a particular subject; others function as more personal online diaries. A typical blog combines text, images, and links to other blogs, web pages, and other media related to its topic. The ability for readers to leave comments in an interactive format is an important part of many blogs.

Most blogs are primarily textual, although some focus on art (artlog), photographs (photoblog), sketchblog, videos (vlog), music (MP3 blog), audio (podcasting) are part of a wider network of social media. Micro-blogging is another type of blogging which consists of blogs with very short posts. As of December 2007, blog search engine Technorati was tracking more than 112 million blogs.

10 Things To Know To Do A Blog

Which field you are doing?

The most important thing is the content that you are doing. Depending on your choice, the readers, the targeted market will be specific. If you are doing for information of certain country like Thailand's, Myanmar's, you can see all your readers are from Thais or Myanmars.

While you are choosing the field, firstly you come to your head is what field you gonna to choose.

1.It must be your favorite one or the one you will never get bored.

2.The targeted market should be niche means your readers can't find your information widely. (It is very important because when you choose of Britney Spears, how can you possibly compete other websites, news, blogs that are doing about her up to date all the time.)

3.The information must not be shortage or lack from continuous getting them for its survival.

4.Are you really a writer? It means you can produce your own thought, idea and opinion for your constant reader. Otherwise, you have to think how to maintain your constant or royal readers.

5.Choosing templates is also one of the main things that you and your readers never get bored and ease to read. There are many good template generating websites you can find. I recommend jackbook (or you can google them).

6.You have difficulties for starting your blog? You should read other blogs or sites which can give you idea or source. The more you can spend to get your information, the more source you can get for your site.

7.It's better to separate your posts than to combine together in one post with all information. It will help to popularity of your site and more possible for search engine to read the content.

8. Go other sites, give good comments that means you are not going there only for advertising your site. They will definitely find where are you from.

9. Find the way how to interact with your readers to get their feedback, idea, source and what they want. You can make Chatting Box, recommend to comments and take care of them.

10.Update regularly however and whenever if you think as your readers.

How To Deal With Blog-Create Post

Hope you are ready for start doing a blog. Here are some helpful detailed information since you all are my friends.

How to get to 'Create post' or 'New Post'

After you have created a new blog, you will find that blog at your dashboard (http://www.blogger.com/home). If you have more than one blog, you will see all of them as sorted from the one that you updated most lately.

Each Blog has links beside to modify more quickly and easily for 'New Post', to create your new post, right side of 'Manage', 'Post', to manage your old posts, 'Setting',to manage your blog setting, 'Layout', to edit your design of your site or template. Right most of the title of blog is 'View Blog', to view your current blog.

To create post, click 'New Post' there. After you are there, you can also make another new post by clicking 'Create' at the left second top menu list.

How to write inside the post

For normally, you will see title bar that you write for the specific address of individual post. That is the most important part of the content that readers get you through search engine.

Below that, you will see two tab at right "Edit Html" and "Compose".

For a beginner, you are recommended to stay at 'Compose' and just writing what you want to write. You can see all accessible options as menu bar just below it. All are user-friendly as Microsoft Word.

How to upload images and videos

When you want to upload the photo, you can click the 'Add image' button there. The new window will appear. Then you will see two places to upload the image; left is for uploading your own image from your computer which is lower than 8MB file size and right one is for grabbing the image from other website with their individual link that won't take you long time. You can add more images link up to 5.

After that, you have to choose a layout the way you want your photo appear where 'None', to drag your image any where in the post, 'Left' to keep that left side of the paragraph so on.

Image Size doesn't mean to reduce the quality of your site. It just make the web to be shown suitable appearance. You can still view the original size of image when you click on that.

You then upload images which will take u a couple of min depending on the image size.

Uploading video is also easy to understand as you can see there.

When you are ready to publish your post, you can make the labels for that post so that you and readers can easily organize them and find the posts with same label. You can separate with commas and up to 200 characters.

Then in Post options, you can just leave it unless you don't want the readers to comment the post or allow backlinks (which is the link appeared when other people forwarding to your post).

You can also change for post date and time.

In HTML editing, you can edit every detail format of each word. For some code, you can only edit at 'HTML', paste and post.

For example, if you want to publish the video that you like from 'YouTube' in your site, you can copy the embed code from 'YouTube' and just paste it under 'Edit Html'.

If you are willing to learn Html code and blogging in perfect way, you better do all things under 'Edit Html'. But that are not recommend for beginners for hoping that they are not editing the code and all.

You can preview it before you publish the post. If there is some error in html code, you will be asked to manage it.
